End-of-the-year Campaign Met Its Match

More than 1,200 gifts totaling $189,702 were received in November and December of 2012 to wrap up CentraCare Health Foundation's 2012 Community Campaign. Thanks to the generosity of the St. Cloud Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary, donations were matched up to $100,000.

This concludes CentraCare Health Foundation's five-year Caring for Generations Campaign that raised more than $36 million from local benefactors, employees and medical staff to complete the addition to St. Cloud Hospital's southeast side.

"In Central Minnesota, we are blessed with generous people who understand the importance of improving health and health care in our community for future generations," said Mark Larkin, vice president of Development for CentraCare Health System. "CentraCare's vision is to be the leader in Minnesota for quality, safety, service and value but that is not possible without the support of the community."

Each year St. Cloud Hospital:

  • Celebrates more than 2,700 births
  • Provides lifesaving heart care to nearly 30,000 patients
  • Offers support and treatment to 2,000 cancer diagnoses
  • Performs more than 14,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries

"With the expansion of St. Cloud Hospital comes enhanced programs and services for our patients," said Craig Broman, president of St. Cloud Hospital. "The gifts from the community create the margin of excellence to attract the best health care providers so St. Cloud Hospital can offer innovations such as the endovascular operating room specially equipped for complex vascular cases such as aneurysms, carotid stent placement and stroke intervention."
