Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Open House Showcases the Latest in Preemie Care

Explore our newest “arrival” — St. Cloud Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) designed for the tiniest and sickest of infants to grow and thrive — during a public open house from 4-6 p.m. July 24. We’ve created a calming and serene environment which nurtures these tiny infants and families every step of the way on their journey home. The new NICU is conveniently located on the third floor next to the Family Birthing Center, the OB Triage unit and Perinatology Clinic to provide expectant parents better continuity of care from the beginning of pregnancy through the end of their hospital stay.

Parents of babies in the new NICU can expect:

  • Private rooms with parent areas , couches, personal space, closets and refrigerators to store breast milk;
  • Overhead music to support the growth and development of the neonate;
  • Advanced monitoring and technology;
  • WebCam for viewing the infant from anywhere in the world; and
  • A parent respite room.

Enter through the North entrance and take Center elevator to third floor. For more information, call (320) 656-7021.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

The St. Cloud Hospital NICU offers a multidisciplinary team approach. We have a dedicated NICU transport team to transfer critical babies from the region to St. Cloud Hospital. Here they receive highly specialized care in a patient and family focused environment where parents have direct access to the neonatologists. Our NICU was the first March of Dimes NICU Family Support Program site in Minnesota. The program assists families during their hospital stay and transition to home. It provides information, a social network and emotional support. The March of Dimes and CentraCare Health Foundation provide funding for this program.
