CentraCare Urgency Center to Open

St. Cloud, Minn. - CentraCare Health soon will offer a new way of delivering care in St. Cloud — the CentraCare Urgency Center. The first of its kind in Central Minnesota, the Urgency Center delivers the high-quality urgent medical care you expect without the emergency room wait or cost. Opening Monday, Jan. 20, at CentraCare Health Plaza, the CentraCare Urgency Center will be staffed by Central Minnesota Emergency Physicians, the same group that treats patients at the St. Cloud Hospital Emergency Trauma Center.

Common health concerns to be treated at the CentraCare Urgency Center include:

  • acute injury evaluation
  • blood clots
  • broken bones
  • chest pain
  • dislocations, sprains and strains
  • eye pain and injury
  • fast-onset joint and back pain
  • head injury
  • high fever, dehydration, nausea or vomiting
  • minor injuries from motor vehicle collisions
  • pediatric illness and injuries
  • pneumonia and other infectious problems
  • pregnancy bleeding and cramping
  • respiratory or breathing problems, including asthma
  • serious cuts requiring stitches or severe nosebleed
  • severe abdominal pain
  • severe headache/migraine

The Urgency Center is open 365 days a year from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays. No appointment needed. Patients should enter through Woodlands and go to the second level.

Patients transported by air or ground ambulance need to go to the St. Cloud Hospital Emergency Trauma Center.
