CentraCare Health – Long Prairie breaks ground for new medical campus

CentraCare Health - Long Prairie GroundbreakingLong Prairie hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking event on May 9, 2016, which marked the official start of an innovative model of health care that will soon be delivered in Central Minnesota. CentraCare Health – Long Prairie has started construction of a new medical campus, replacing the existing 60 year old facility, scheduled to open in 2017.

The new model of health care will better serve the nearly 24,000 regional residents with a focus on outpatient care rather than inpatient stays, better access to additional specialists and privacy that meets today’s standards.

The new state-of-the-art facility will include:

  • 65,000-square-foot clinic and hospital facility
  • 26 clinic exam rooms
  • 3 clinic procedure rooms
  • 12 private patient rooms for inpatient and outpatient services
  • 2 labor, delivery, and recovery suites
  • 2 operating suites
  • Distinct and inviting clinic and emergency entrances
  • Decentralized nursing stations to enhance efficiency and improve patient monitoring

This project is a reality thanks to the over 500 generous donors who contributed over $2,537,000 to the Building a Healthy Community capital campaign in support of the new medical campus building project. Fundraising efforts will continue throughout the construction process to support additional opportunities within the campus.
