Christine Bakke receives Member of the Year Award at statewide convention

Care Providers of Minnesota have announced that Christine Bakke, administrator, St. Benedict's Senior Community, has been honored with the prestigious “Member of the Year” award from a state-wide association of senior care professionals.

Bakke was recognized at Care Providers of Minnesota’s annual convention, held earlier this month in Minneapolis. The Member of the Year Award is chosen by the Board of Directors Chair and presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions of time, energy, and expertise to Care Providers of Minnesota and the long-term care profession. The award has been presented annually to a member since 1971.

“What an honor to be recognized this way in front of my peers,” commented Bakke. “I am so appreciative of the work done by the staff and the members of Care Providers of Minnesota and truly believe that we are making a difference for the residents and tenants that we serve. I look forward to where the future is taking us with senior services and am fortunate to be a part of how that is shaped.”

Christine was chosen due to the impact she has made in the long-term care profession and to Care Providers of Minnesota. She has served on the Board of Directors, Region Representative, Legislative Forum, Nominating Committee, Health Care Reform Council, and the Quality Council. Christine has also been a quality award examiner at the national level for the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living.

“I applaud Christine’s passion, her tenacity, and her willingness to step in and do the right thing for seniors, her community, and the Association,” commented Chris Boldt, Care Providers of Minnesota Board of Director’s Chair. “She gives freely of her time, energy, and expertise making her the perfect choice for the 2016 Member of the Year Award.”

Christine was presented with her award during an awards dinner, which is part of the three-day educational convention for senior care providers. Presenting the award was Patti Cullen, president and CEO of Care Providers of Minnesota; and Chris Boldt, VP, Long-Term Care Operations, Benedictine Health Systems and Board of Director’s Chair, Care Providers of Minnesota.
