CentraCare Health Foundation awards $59,590 in health-related grants -- announces Spirit of Caring winner

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The CentraCare Health Foundation approved eight grants for a total of $59,590 at its board meeting on Oct. 8.

Each year, the CentraCare Health Foundation averages more than $200,000 in grants to improve health throughout Central Minnesota. The Foundation’s grants support projects that promote health education, conduct research or provide services or programs that improve health and health care for residents of our 13-county region. Those receiving grants for fall 2007 are:

  • Arc Midstate’s Living Healthy with Down Syndrome Mini Conference
  • Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota’s Epilepsy Awareness and Education Programs
  • Reason for Hope Retreat
  • Anna Marie’s Alliance Children Exposed to Violence Initiative
  • Whitney Senior Center’s Whitney Without Walls
  • St. Cloud Hospital Behavioral Health’s Postpartum Depression Psycho Education Group
  • Sartell-St. Stephen Early Childhood Programs and Coalition’s Nutrition Program
  • Lakewood Health System’s Breast Health Awareness and Navigation Program

Bridges- Youth, Family, Community in Little Falls received the 2007 Spirit of Caring award. A $5,000 check will be presented by CentraCare Health Foundation Nov. 1 at the Report to the Community program at CentraCare Health Plaza.
