CentraCare honored as #1 Best Place to Work by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal
ST. CLOUD, Minn. –CentraCare Health System has been recognized as the #1 Best Place to Work in Minnesota, in the large company category, by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
2009 winners in the large company category (more than 1,000 full-time employees) include:

CentraCare and the other winners are featured in the Aug. 28 edition of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, and were honored at an Aug. 27 luncheon in Minneapolis.
The award is based on employees’ responses to an online survey conducted this spring by Quantum Market Research. Employees were asked respond to 37 statements using a six-point scale, ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Among the statements:
I find my job interesting and challenging.
Considering the value I bring to the organization, I feel I am paid fairly.
There is open and honest communication between employees and managers.
I understand how my job helps the organization achieve success.
The leaders of this organization demonstrate integrity.
The statements were divided into 10 categories, including team effectiveness, trust with co-workers, feeling valued, and manager effectiveness.
“The Best Places to Work award indicates that we find our work interesting, challenging and rewarding, and that we know we are making a difference,” said Terry Pladson, M.D., president of CentraCare Health System. “It is important that we, as employees of a health care system, feel good about our work because engaged employees provide better care and support to patients and their families.”
CentraCare Health System employs more than 6,000 people. The system includes CentraCare Clinic, St. Cloud Hospital, the hospitals and long-term care facilities in Melrose and Long Prairie, and the St. Benedict’s Senior Community facilities in St. Cloud and Monticello, as well as the CentraCare Health Foundation.
