CentraCare Health System leadership changes
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – CentraCare Clinic's current Medical Director David Tilstra, M.D., will move into the role of CentraCare Clinic President Sept. 1. Current Clinic President Allen Horn, MD, will retire Sept. 14. Dr. Tilstra started with CentraCare Clinic in 1995 and worked in both Pediatrics and Genetics. When he became CentraCare Clinic's Medical Director in January 2003, he continued to work part-time in the Genetics Clinic -- as he will as Clinic President. Tilstra is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed a pediatric residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and a fellowship in medical genetics at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified in pediatrics and medical genetics. In his role as Medical Director, Dr. Tilstra has become a recognized leader in health care quality improvement.
George Morris, M.D., will become CentraCare Clinic's Medical Director Sept. 1. Dr. Morris currently practices at CentraCare Clinic - St. Joseph and is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He received his medical training at the University of Minnesota and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the St. Cloud Hospital/Mayo Family Practice Residency Program. He had practiced with several other medical systems, including serving as a US Navy officer, prior to joining CentraCare Clinic in 2008. Dr. Morris is committed to delivering excellent, evidence-based medical care and has been involved with several CentraCare Health System committees during the past few years. He has great interest in area sporting activities and has served as team physician for many of them. Dr. Morris will continue to see patients in the clinic on a part-time basis.
Kurt Otto has been named St. Cloud Hospital Vice President of Ambulatory & Support Services, effective July 1. This is a new position resulting from the reorganization of senior management responsibilities.
Otto joined St. Cloud Hospital in May 2010 as the care center director for Neurosciences/Spine/ Rehabilitation Services. Before that, he was director of Cardiovascular Services at Regions Hospital/HealthPartners Medical Group and director of Rehabilitation at the Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute for Allina Hospitals and Clinics. He holds bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and a Master of Business Administration with a Health Care Administration Concentration from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul.
