CentraCare Laboratory Services accredited by College of American Pathologists

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – CentraCare Health System’s Laboratory Services recently received accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

“CentraCare Laboratory Services values patient safety and is committed to providing quality throughout the laboratory testing process,” said Cindy Johnson, Director of CentraCare Laboratory Services. “The accreditation program validates the efforts our laboratory staff puts forth on a daily basis to meet and exceed the rigorous quality standards outlined by the College of American Pathologists.”

At an on-site inspection, CAP representatives examine the records and quality control of the laboratory for the past two years. They also scrutinize the education and qualifications of the staff, the adequacy of the facilities, the equipment, laboratory safety and laboratory management to determine how well the laboratory is serving the patient. CAP is an advocate for high-quality, cost-effective care.

CentraCare Laboratory Services joins more than 6,000 facilities across the United States that have earned CAP accreditation.
