The Clara Foundation presents – A benefit for Clara’s House
St. Cloud, Minn – Please join us from 11:30 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. June 20 in the Glenn Carlson Hall at the St. Cloud Civic Center for a luncheon and program hosted by L. Read Sulik, M.D., FAAP, medical director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Cloud Hospital.
The program will feature youth from Clara’s House, along with William C. Moyers, a nationally recognized journalist and author of “Broken,” a best selling memoir. He will share his personal experiences and professional expertise to highlight the power of addiction and the promise of recovery. Moyers is currently the vice president of external affairs for the Hazelden Foundation. Proceeds from this event will provide funding for the CentraCare Health Foundation Behavioral Health Greatest Needs Fund, which includes the Therapeutic Arts Program at Clara’s House.
The Therapeutic Arts Program at Clara’s House serves children and adolescents through the facilitation of creative and non-verbal expression and exploration of emotions, which at times can be beyond words. Through the arts, personal exploration and creation, child and adolescent clients can reclaim their voice and connection to others while addressing mental health and substance abuse issues in a therapeutic setting.
Clara’s House is a unique facility for partial hospitalization programming for youth in
an atmosphere that is warm, healing and supportive of their efforts to regain and maintain health. It offers comprehensive, short-term treatment of acute psychiatric conditions for children and adolescents ages 5 to 18 with multiple disciplines including psychiatry, social work, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, recreational therapy and art therapy.
