Melrose Area Hospital welcomes new administrator

Melrose, Minn. – Gerry Gilbertson started Oct. 27 as the new administrator of Melrose Area Hospital, Park View Center and Pine Villa Care Center.

Gilbertson’s health care management career spans 28 years. Before coming to Melrose, he was administrator/chief operating officer of Miller Dwan Medical Center, part of the St. Mary’s Duluth Clinic Health System. He has served several other health care entities including Sanford Health System in Sioux Falls, S.D., Fairmont Medical Center-Mayo Health System in Fairmont, Minn., and Kanabec County Hospital in Mora, Minn.

Gilbertson received his bachelor’s degree in business and health care administration from Concordia College and has a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Minnesota. He also is a licensed nursing home administrator.

Gilbertson looks forward to working with the Melrose community and will strive to improve health and health care facilities in the area.
