St. Cloud Hospital receives limited H1N1 vaccine for pregnant women

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud Hospital has received a very limited supply of H1N1 vaccine from the Minnesota Department of Health for vaccinating pregnant women in the St. Cloud area. Health care providers from several area clinics and Stearns County Public Health met today to discuss vaccine allocation.

These health care providers have designated criteria for patients who are to receive the vaccine at this time. Patients will be contacted by their health care providers if they meet the criteria.

“Representatives from our area obstetric providers met today to develop a process to distribute the limited vaccine received in a way which would best serve the community at this time,” said Thomas Schrup, M.D., medical director of emergency preparedness for the Central Region.
