Spring Fling raises $90,000 for St. Benedict's Senior Community - more than 300 people attended garden party fundraiser
St. Cloud, Minn. – The ninth annual Spring Fling Progressive Garden Party at St. Benedict's Senior Community on June 14 raised more than $90,000 to remodel Woodland Hall, St. Benedict's Senior Community's large events space.
This year, the Spring Fling proceeds will benefit residents throughout St. Benedict's Senior Community who gather in Woodland Hall to sing, dance, play games, create art, mingle and celebrate special occasions with family and friends.
"Our residents continue to inspire all of us who work in their community," said Luan Knoll, director of Fund Development for St. Benedict's Senior Community. "They inspire us to think about our world differently. To realize the potential -- the spirited fire we bring to one another no matter our age. Truly age is just a number. I am hoping that with the support of our generous benefactors, we can raise the funds needed for this project in two years."
Residents of St. Benedict's campus and their families joined the party in Lillian's Garden for the social and again under the canopy for dessert and dancing to the music of the Brian Kinney Band.
The 2012 Spring Fling volunteer leadership included Corey Bartlett, Krista Durrwachter and Barb Caspers.
The 2012 Spring Fling co-sponsors include Automotive Parts Headquarters, Inc.; Donlar Construction; Lite Rock 99.9; Marco; Regional Diagnostic Radiology; SEI; and John and Mary Weitzel.
