CentraCare breaks ground on new clinic in St. Joseph
St. Joseph, Minn. - To help to meet the health care needs of a growing community, CentraCare Clinic is investing more than $5 million in the St. Joseph community to build a new, larger clinic at the intersection of County Road 133 and 75. CentraCare officials, contractors and St. Joseph city officials celebrated with a ground-breaking ceremony Aug. 29 at the site.
The new clinic building, which is planned to be completed in spring 2009, will be double the size (13,032 sq. ft.) of the current clinic and is designed to provide space for future expansion.
When the clinic is completed, Drs. Thomas Newton and Julia Craig-Muller and the staff from the current clinic at 106 Second Avenue Northwest will move to the new building with an additional physician.
George Morris, M.D., a family medicine and sports medicine physician, will join CentraCare Clinic Sept. 23. He will practice at the current clinic site one to two days a week. Once the new clinic is open, he plans to work full-time in St. Joseph. More providers will be added as needed.
“CentraCare Clinic is committed to the St. Joseph community, and we look forward to a public open house in the spring to share the new clinic with the community and our patients,” said Mark Murphy, executive administrator, CentraCare Clinic.
