Heart Center changes name From Spotlight on Health - Fall 2011

The Central Minnesota Heart Center at St. Cloud Hospital now is known as the CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center. Adding the word “vascular” to the name emphasizes the full range of vascular services provided by the center’s physicians and staff.

Cardiologists in the Heart and Vascular Center perform a variety of vascular procedures, including:

  • Imaging that shows how quickly the kidneys remove unwanted chemicals from blood;
  • Studies to help in diagnosing blockages of arteries in the lungs;
  • Angioplasties to treat diseases of the arteries farthest from the heart; and
  • Endografts, a technique for repairing aneurysms.

Future plans include varicose vein reconstruction.
