Tips and recommendations from the CentraCare Clinic - Dermatology Department
General skin care tips
1. Bathe or shower in lukewarm water. Hot water dries the skin. Twenty-minute tub soaks each day followed by a moisturizer can help reduce dry skin.
2. Use soap sparingly and only at the end of a bath. Do not use bubble baths.
3. Pat skin dry gently.
4. Apply moisturizer while skin is still damp. The moisturizer will be better absorbed and will trap moisture in the skin.
5. Drink plenty of water.
6. Humidify the air in the house during the winter.
