This class is for brothers and sisters-to-be ages 3 to 5 and their parents or adult caregivers. Join us for this unique event featuring fun activities that will prepare your child for the arrival of a new baby. The morning includes information sharing and camp activities around a "campfire."
Children will learn about becoming an older sibling and how to interact with a new baby. Please bring a baby doll or teddy bear (if available) and a baby picture of the child attending the camp ... and feel free to bring your camera, too!
A folder with information on how to help a child cope with a new baby will be given to the parents attending the camp. We encourage those attending the camp to share the information learned with others who care for the sibling-to-be, such as grandparents, other family members and babysitters.
The last half hour of class is for siblings who will be attending the birth. A support person (not the labor coach) must attend this class and be present at the birth for each child.
Following class, from 11-11:45, tours of the Family Birthing Center will be offered.
Taught by St. Cloud Hospital Family Birthing Center nurses.
New Baby Day Camp is held at St. Cloud Hospital. Meet by the fireplace in the North Lobby at St. Cloud Hospital (use North Entrance).
