Innovative care -- it gave Mike a second chance, and a life story that beats any fish story.

For Mike, innovation is just a fancy way to say life-saving. His sudden cardiac arrest left him in grave danger. After receiving bystander CPR and having paramedics shock his heart back into rhythm, we used an innovative treatment at the Central Minnesota Heart Center -- cooling his core body temperature to 92°.

We were the first Minnesota hospital to successfully use this new approach, part of a comprehensive sudden cardiac arrest initiative called “Take Heart America.”
