When you’re from Colorado and your mother is hospitalized in St. Cloud, Minnesota, you not only feel powerless against the illness, you feel the weight of the endless miles between you.
Ruth Hetland needed to be by her mother’s side, and through the guest house, we were able to accommodate, providing three weeks of quiet and comfort for Ruth and her son, who were able to stay close by while her mother was in our care.
“St. Cloud Hospital truly understands the connection between mind, body and spirit,” Ruth said. “My mother needed physical healing, and we need to be there for her. The guest house completed that circle of support, and I am grateful.” |

A home away from home that’s closer to care.
Thanks to $1.5 million of support from our benefactors, St. Cloud Hospital Gorecki Guest House is able to welcome family members of patients who are receiving medical care in the St. Cloud community. The guest house offers a comfortable, homelike atmosphere that allows families the opportunity to stay close to their loved ones — just across the street, in fact, from the hospital.
We’re now working to raise an additional $1 million to endow the house and ensure a permanent place of comfort for people traveling long distances to be close to the people they love when they are needed the most.

This house was built by caring community members and employees who gave so generously to make it a reality. It offers many amenities:
