Brian and Holly Peterson spent 26 days a few inches from their newborn girls —watching them grow and develop in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unite (NICU), waiting to carry them home.
The girls were eight weeks early, and their lives were off to a rocky start. Brian himself hardly made it through the delivery; the stress of his wife’s emergency C-section got the better of him, and he needed medical care as we were attending to her.

We welcome families into the world every day at the St. Cloud Hospital Women & Children’s Center — from happy, healthy babies to fragile and premature infants. And in every case, we strive to offer a family-friendly environment and culture, plus the experienced staff and advanced technologies it takes to support these young lives.
We are looking to expand our ability to care for the youngest generation — for children facing life-threatening illness or injury, and for premature infants who often struggle to survive.
Your gift will:
- Build private NICU rooms, which promote healing, bonding and developmental support
- Relocate our NICU within the Family Birthing Center, allowing families to stay with their critically ill newborns 24/7
- Move high-risk obstetric services from CentraCare Health Plaza to St. Cloud Hospital, giving patients immediate access to perinatal specialists
- Expand our ability to care for the youngest generation — for children facing life-threatening illness or injury, and for premature infants who often struggle to survive.
