Rosalie Timmers Memorial Scholarship

The family of Rosalie Timmers, along with the St. Cloud Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary will award one $1,000 scholarship and two $500 scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year for a current or former St. Cloud Hospital Junior Volunteer (minimum of 50 hours served) who is pursuing a career in health care. Payment will be made directly to the successful applicants' school.

To be eligible for consideration an applicant must:

• Be a current or former Junior Volunteer at St. Cloud Hospital with a minimum of 50 hours of service prior to April 30, 2013.
• Be a High School senior enrolling in 2013/2014 in a degree program with a career goal in healthcare or nursing.
• Have a GPA of 2.8 or above.
• Demonstrate involvement in community/school activities or involvement in work.

Each applicant must:

• Complete an application form.
• Attach a current official high school transcript.
• Attach a list of your school, community and work activities including your volunteer work. Please include the activity, year, and any awards you received.
• Attach a typed essay of no more than two double-spaced pages. Please include the following:
  - the applicant's career goals;
  - factors that led to the applicant's choice of a health care career;
  - the applicant's experience in the health care field, such as internships, volunteer activities or jobs.
  - how your experience as a volunteer with St. Cloud Hospital relates to your career goals.

Special Qualifications:

• A graduating senior attending St. Cloud area high school
• Attending a Minnesota college/university or those with reciprocity.

St. Cloud Hospital Halenbeck Fund will award scholarships for the 2013 Fall Semester and 2014 Spring Semester for students pursuing a career in health care. Payment will be made in two installments, directly to the successful applicant’s school. Application deadline is Mar. 15, 2013.

St. Cloud Hospital Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund

The St. Cloud Hospital Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund was established to be an ongoing memorial to the school. The purpose of the fund is to support nursing education and recruitment of viable candidates into the profession through financial assistance.
