| Adult Mental Health Partial Hospitalization The Adult Partial Hospitalization
Program offers comprehensive, short-term treatment of acute
psychiatric conditions for patients 18 years of age and older.
The program operates Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. Patients return to their homes at the end of the
treatment day.
Patients may be admitted to the program after inpatient mental
health care for follow-up support and stabilization. The program
is also an alternative for some people who need intensive
treatment but can function safely without an initial hospital
admission. Outpatient providers refer other individuals for
the expanded treatment structure and/or medication adjustments.
Our treatment team, directed by a psychiatrist, provides
services based on individual treatment plans. In addition
to the psychiatrist, therapeutic staff includes a clinical
social worker, registered nurse, program facilitators and
a recreational therapist.
The Partial Hospitalization Program is designed for an average
of five to 10 days of attendance. Patients’ goals and
therapeutic needs determine individual length of involvement
in the program. The treatment team makes further service recommendations
and helps patients to set up or resume community outpatient
services at the time of discharge.
