| Child and Adolescent Mental Health Outpatient Services The world
today is fast-paced, complex and full of challenges for our
youth. Families who have children or adolescents with emotional
or behavioral problems often struggle to understand what is
happening and how to help.
To assist, the Behavioral Health Clinic provides a full range
of psychological and psychiatric services to help families
better understand and treat even the most complicated emotional
or behavioral issues.
Child and adolescent psychologists are able to assist in
understanding our youth through specialized psychological
assessment and testing services.
Parents and teachers who have specific questions can find
answers and a better understanding of their child’s
emotions, learning style, development, attention span and
the reasons for disruptive behaviors. Psychologists provide
a variety of helpful treatment interventions, including:
- neuropsychological testing
- testing
of ADHD, behavior and personality
- individual or play therapy
- adolescent group therapy
- family therapy
- consultation to parents and teachers.
Child and adolescent psychiatrists are also available at
the Behavioral Health Clinic and often work collaboratively
with area physicians to provide assessment, medical interventions
and medication management. When more intensive interventions
are needed, our psychiatrists direct care in the adolescent
inpatient and partial-hospitalization programs, located at
St. Cloud Hospital.
Unique to our program is the ability to collaborate with
other specialty physicians and providers in a family-friendly,
fun environment. This service, located at CentraCare Health
Plaza, shares space with pediatric rehabilitation, pediatric
oncology, an adolescent physician clinic and a variety of
other medical specialty clinics.
