| Child and
Adolescent Partial Hospitalization The child and adolescent
partial hospitalization programs offer comprehensive, short-term
treatment of acute psychiatric conditions to children and
adolescents ranging in age from five to18 years.
Child and adolescent partial hospitalization services, provided
at Clara's
House, operate Monday through
Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants return home
at the end of each day.
Admission to a program may follow inpatient mental health
care to maintain stability in the transition back to home,
school and the community.
Alternatively the programs are also offered for children
and adolescents in need of intensive treatment who are able
to function safely without an initial hospital admission.
Our treatment team, directed by psychiatrists, provides services
based on individual treatment plans. In addition to the child
and adolescent psychiatrists, therapeutic staff includes a
licensed clinical social worker, registered nurse, mental
health assistant, program facilitator and art, occupational
and recreational therapists. Teachers from Independent School
District 742 work with patients each day to regain and maintain
academic progress.
Each participant’s goals and therapeutic needs determine
individual length of involvement in the program. The treatment
teams make further service recommendations and help students
and their families set up community outpatient resources at
the time of discharge.
