St. Cloud Hospital has been active in the education of Radiologic Technologists since 1938. The two-year Radiologic Technology Program is administered through St. Cloud Hospital’s Imaging Department and is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-3182, (312) 704-5300.
St. Cloud Hospital’s School of Diagnostic Imaging can provide the education you need to become a radiologic technologist (radiographer). The program provides:
Optimal clinical experience in a variety of settings
Excellent correlation of didactic and clinical instruction
The latest equipment available for clinical experiences
About the Program
The School serves as an internship site for completion of a baccalaureate degree for various universities.
The Radiologic Technology Program is offered only as a full-time day option.
The faculty is highly qualified, committed to educating future professionals, and concerned about each student’s professional and personal growth.
Students are admitted in the fall through a selective admissions process.
Graduates are eligible to take the national registry examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
The field of radiologic technology offers a challenging and rewarding career opportunity where excellence produces dynamic results.
Radiologic Technology Education includes an intensive field of study that strives to provide excellence in radiography education. The students will spend about 40 hours each week in the hospital environment. Part of this time will be spent in the didactic and laboratory setting and part will be in the clinical environment. All students are full time.
Program Mission
The mission of St. Cloud Hospital’s School of Diagnostic Imaging is to offer competent, entry-level radiographers to the community by providing education in the art and science of radiologic technology that promotes and enhances safety for the patient.
To uphold our mission, St. Cloud Hospital’s Radiology Program embraces the following goals:
Integrate clinical and didactic education to provide competent, entry-level radiographers.
Facilitate the development of both oral and written communication skills.
Prepare graduates for critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the clinical setting.
Facilitate the development of life-long learning.
Outcomes
- Students will integrate appropriate ALARA concepts.
- Students will produce diagnostic quality radiographs.
- Students will provide age-appropriate patient care.
- Students will be able to effectively explain examination and procedures to patients and/or family members.
- Students will demonstrate effective written communication in the healthcare environment.
- Students will demonstrate effective oral communication in the healthcare environment.
- The student will be able to revise procedures based on patient condition.
- The student will be able to differentiate between optimal and suboptimal radiographs.
- Students will analyze the aspects of the three professional organizations.
- Students will develop a personal professional development plan.
- Students will complete the program within 36 months.
- Graduates will express satisfaction with the program and their education.
- Graduates will be adequately prepared to pass the ARRT certification examination.
- Graduates actively pursuing employment will be employed within 6 months of graduation.
- Employers will be satisfied with graduates’ knowledge and skills.

Important: Do not have your high school or college(s) mail any of the documentation directly to the School of Diagnostic Imaging. Have the schools send transcripts to you in a sealed envelope with a signature of person sending it written on top of the seal on the envelope. This envelope must remain sealed to be considered an official transcript.
