| Adult Rehabilitation - Hand Therapy
Hand therapy is a specialty area of occupational therapy that helps patients perform daily activities after suffering from an injury or disease related to the forearm, wrist, hand or finger.
Goal
Increase patient’s ability to perform daily activities by:
- Decreasing pain
- Increasing motion
- Improving strength
Beneficial for patients with:
- Traumatic bone, nerve or tendon injuries
- Nerve compressions
- Arthritis
- Tendonitis
Treatment may include:
Splinting, motion exercises, stretching, strengthening, postural retraining, nerve gliding and work-related therapy.
Therapists:
Our staff of occupational therapists, including a specially certified hand therapist (CHT), is highly skilled.

A CHT:
- Has a minimum of five years clinical experience including thousands of hours in hand therapy.
- Has passed a comprehensive test on care of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and recertification.
