What is a physiatrist?
A physiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Physiatrists treat a wide range of problems from sore shoulders to spinal cord injuries.

Physiatrists evaluate the impact of a condition on the whole person -- medically, socially, emotionally and vocationally. Physiatrists help patients understand and take control of their

Coordinating care
Our physiatrists work with patients to develop a customized course of treatment. This may include one or several of the following:

  • Specialized spinal strengthening for treatment of chronic neck and back pain.
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapy.
  • Trigger point injections for the treatment of myofascial pain and headaches.
  • Spinal injections for pain control.
  • Medication management.
  • Behavioral counseling.
  • Neuropsychometric assessment.
  • Return to work plans.
  • Intrathecal baclofen pump management for the treatment of spasticity.
  • Botox injections and motorpoint blocks for treatment of spasticity.
