Wound Care Program
The St. Cloud Hospital Wound Care
Program provides skilled wound care
for outpatients with acute and
chronic wounds in the St. Cloud
and surrounding area.
Types of Wounds
We treat patients with a
wide variety of wounds,
including ulcers caused by
inadequate blood flow,
diabetes, pressure, trauma,
infection and burns.
Treatments
available
- Debridement - removal of
dead tissue to speed healing.
- Whirlpool - uses the agitation in
the water to cleanse the wounds and
make debridement easier.
- Pulsed lavage - wound cleansing with saline
using low pressure to remove bacteria and
loose debris.
- Vasopneumatic compression - a mechanical
pump to squeeze swelling out of the arms
or legs.
- Ultrasound - using sound waves to
stimulate healing.
- Electrical stimulation - the use of electrical
current to bring in healing components.
- UV light - the use of cold UV light to eliminate
bacteria and stimulate new skin formation.
- Advanced dressings, including the
VAC dressing system - a closed system using
suction to increase healing tissue.
Location
We are located on the north end of the first floor of
the St. Cloud Hospital between elevators D and E.
