The Center for Surgical Care provides high-quality, specialized surgical services with a focus on patient and family-centered care.

Pediatric Surgery Room
Within the Center for Surgical Care, we have a special pediatric room for our young surgical patients. It is furnished with child-friendly décor and has toys and other items to help a child feel less frightened about being at the hospital. In addition, we offer a program that allows parents to be present with their children during the anesthesia process, which is often a very positive and comforting experience for both children and their parents. Should you choose to accompany your child, you will be prepared and guided through the process by a member of your child’s care team, usually a registered nurse from the Center. Serenity Room
We developed our Serenity Room, in part, to enhance the spiritual element of the care we provide. By having this special room available, we are able to offer patients a convenient, comfortable and peaceful environment in which to spend time before surgery, if they desire. In addition, families who wish to use the room can be easily located by the staff or the patient’s doctor when there is news to report about their loved one’s condition.

Family Waiting Area
Our family waiting area was designed with input from several families. Their recommendations helped us create a relaxed and healing environment for families to gather. The waiting room offers soft lighting and music, private consultation rooms, a full-time waiting room support person and personal pagers for families.
