Step 2: Application materials
Application
To apply for a volunteer position, submit an application online by going to the link for the appropriate program: Adult, College or Junior. Junior volunteers must also submit a completed Parental Consent Form (PDF). After your application is received, you will receive a confirmation email with information regarding the next steps in the process.
Recommendation
Identify people who can vouch for your character and your work abilities, preferably work or education-related references. Recommendations from relatives will not be accepted. Recommendation/s must be received within 60 days of receiving your application. Adult and College volunteers must submit one recommendation. Junior volunteers must submit three recommendations.

Immunization records
St. Cloud Hospital Employee Health Services (EHS) follows the recommended guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to protect you from getting the diseases and to prevent you from spreading the diseases to patients, employees or volunteers. Immunization Requirements vary based on year of birth, when reviewing the Immunization Requirements please identify the requirements for your year of birth.

Step 3: Interview
After your application materials are received, we will review your application. If your qualifications, background and availability indicate a match to the position/s we have available, you will be contacted for an interview. The interview offers us a chance to discuss your application, your schedule and your specific volunteer interests, as well as opportunities currently available that might be suitable for you.
Offers of volunteering
All offers of volunteering are contingent upon successfully passing a background check and health screening. You will work with the Volunteer Office staff to schedule a health screening and orientation.
Step 4: Health screening and background study
The health screening and background study are provided free of charge.
Background study

Health screening includes:
- Review of your health history
- Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test
(also known as a Mantoux test)
- Urine drug test
Step 5: Hospital orientation
Orientation includes a live session, tour, uniform, ID badge and computerized education modules. Computerized education modules may be completed online with instructions given during the interview.
