Volunteer positions for college students are offered during three terms each year: Fall, Spring and Summer. Volunteer Terms are approximately 13 weeks long with strict deadlines for completing requirements.

Opportunities

We typically have a large number of returning volunteers each term, and they are given first priority for volunteer placements. Most volunteer positions are available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. There are limited evening and weekend opportunities.

Commitment
We require a minimum commitment to one term of volunteering for 50 hours during which you volunteer once a week for a four-hour shift. The days and time you volunteer are scheduled according to the needs of our health system and your availability.

Because of the seriousness of volunteering in a health care setting, our training is extensive. Before applying to volunteer, please carefully consider your ability to commit to the program. Requirements include:

• A sincere desire to help others and provide service to St. Cloud Hospital;
• Ability to work a 4-hour shift each week during the Term September 20 - December 19 (a total of 50 hours);
• Be available for an interview;
• Complete a Health Screening ;
• Complete General Hospital Orientation on September 13 or 20;
• Complete 4-8 hours of training and orientation in volunteer position;
• Provide a valid photo ID (e.g. driver’s license or passport);
• Attend training and meetings pertaining to your volunteer position; and
• Complete annual requirements (education, health work, assessment).

Give careful consideration to assignment preference and schedule availability when filling out the application. Only complete applications will be considered.
