Commitment
We ask for a 50-hour minimum commitment and that you volunteer once a week for a three-hour shift during the school year and a four-hour shift during the summer.

Junior Applicant Screening Process

• Application - Junior Volunteer Application
• Completed Parental Consent Form (PDF)
• 3 completed recommendation forms - Recommendation Form (PDF)
• Medical clearance
• Criminal background check
• Welcome session
• Interview
• Orientation – 3½ hours long and completed via the Internet
• Position-specific training

Because of the seriousness of volunteering in a health care setting, our training is extensive. Before applying to volunteer, please carefully consider your ability to commit to the program. Requirements include:

• A sincere desire to help others and provide service to St. Cloud Hospital
• A firm commitment to serving a minimum of 50 hours before leaving our program
• Phone Interview
• Complimentary health screening by our Employee Health Services - 1/2 hour
  appointment between 9a-11a or 1p-2p Tuesdays (Parent or guardian must attend)
• Complimentary criminal background check
• Volunteer Orientation Session – offered monthly on Mondays
• Present photo ID such as Driver’s License or Student ID
• Attend training and meetings pertaining to your volunteer position
• Complete annual requirements (education, health work, assessment)
