Preparing for your Birth - St. Cloud Hospital

We want you to have a comfortable and personalized birth experience. Take these steps to make sure you are ready for your birth and hospital stay.

At 28 weeks of your pregnancy:

Fill out the Preregistration and Birth Certificate Information form and mail it to: ATTN: Admitting, St. Cloud Hospital, 1406 6th Avenue North, St. Cloud, MN 56303-9989.

Check with your health plan about your preadmission requirements, length of stay and other concerns.

At 30 weeks of your pregnancy:

Fill out the Preferences for Your Birth Experience form and bring it with you at the time of birth.

Register online for a tour of the Family Birthing Center. Go to "Childbirth Education" in the events calendar and view dates for "Now on Tour."

When to come to the hospital:

Know the signs of labor:

  • Contractions are strong and regular
  • Contractions are every five minutes, lasting 55-60 seconds
  • Your water breaks
  • Decreased fetal movement
  • Bleeding, more than "show" or spotting
  • You are concerned/not comfortable at home

Check with your provider for specific recommendations.
