MAKO® Robotics

The Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System (RIO®) from MAKO® features three dimensional planning, which involves getting a CT scan prior to surgery. During surgery, the RIO® provides the surgeon with real-time feedback for precise cuts in joint resurfacing and implant positioning. It is the latest technology currently available for total joint replacement and can result in a more natural motion following surgery. Additionally, there is:

  • Quicker recovery; minimally invasive procedure with minimal tissue trauma
  • Accuracy to plan for implant size prior to surgery
  • Real-time adjustments during surgery for correct knee or hip alignment
