On his way to a healthier life with the medical weight loss program.
After trying a variety of diets, John Horn, 70, of Lake Henry, has found success at CentraCare Bariatric Center. In August, he started on an individualized weight loss plan under the medical management of George Morris, MD. Along with weight concerns, John was also struggling with kidney failure, diabetes, back pain, and difficulty walking. John’s nephrologist, Thomas Leither, MD, recommended the medical weight loss program.
Participation in the program involves a variety of options including: weekly classes, regular provider visits, periodic lab work, one-on-one dietitian visits and exercise consultation. John feels much of his success is related to his attendance at weekly classes where the focus is on nutrition, exercise and lasting lifestyle changes.
Since starting the program, John is down 55 pounds. “Everything has improved. I can walk a half mile, do more with my family and my doctor has taken me off several medications.” John still has weight to lose but is well on his way to his ultimate goal of “helping with our catering business, taking the workload off my wife and to be all around happier!” John recommends this program to anyone who has been struggling with weight loss. “It’s an ideal program to go through; the support is there.”
