FREE screenings and activities
Balance Self Test: Balance problems are known to increase significantly with age. Take this simple written questionnaire to determine if you may be headed for a fall. Your provider can help you determine if you may need a balance screening test from a qualified clinician. Provided by St. Cloud Hospital Balance & Dizziness Program.
Body Composition: For best results do not work out within 4-6 hours prior to the test. You should be well-hydrated. Provided by St. Cloud Area Family YMCA.
Cholesterol: Cholesterol is a fat-like substance made by your body to make cell membranes and hormones. When cholesterol is high, your risk for heart disease increases. Provided by CentraCare Laboratory Services. You can pick up your lab results and have them reviewed by a health care professional at the CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center booth on the first level.
Da Vinci Robot: Test drive the da Vinci surgical robot and meet our doctors who are taking our minimally invasive surgery to the next level. Get behind the controls of the technology that is transforming lives with smaller incisions, less pain and faster recovery. St. Cloud Hospital currently uses its two da Vinci robots for surgeries related to the bladder, kidneys, female reproductive organs, pelvic floor and prostate.
Depression: Is it the blues or something more serious? This is an interactive questionnaire, taken in the privacy of your home, to help you determine if you have signs of depression. Provided by St. Cloud Hospital Women's Behavioral Health.
Glucose: Fasting blood sugar is used to screen or monitor how well your body is processing sugar. Diabetes is a common disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other foods into energy needed for daily life. Provided by CentraCare Laboratory Services. You can pick up your lab results and have them reviewed by a health care professional at the CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center booth on the first level.
Hearing Screening: Hearing screening tests provide a quick and cost effective way to separate people into two groups: a pass group and a fail group. Those who pass are presumed to have no hearing loss. Those who fail are in need of an in-depth evaluation by an audiologist and also may need follow-up care from other professionals. It is recommended that adults be screened at least every decade through age 50 and at three year intervals thereafter. The screening takes approximately 5-10 minutes per person. Provided by the Hearing Clinic of St. Cloud Ear, Nose & Throat, Head & Neck Clinic.
HDL: High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is believed to carry cholesterol away from your arteries and therefore lower your risk for heart disease. Low HDL puts you at a higher risk for heart disease. Provided by CentraCare Laboratory Services. You can pick up your lab results and have them reviewed by a health care professional at the CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center booth on the first level.
Is It Time for a Medical Alarm?: How do you know if and when a medical alarm (such as Link to Life) would be beneficial to you or a loved one? Take this simple written questionnaire to help determine if you could benefit from the peace of mind of a medical alarm. Provided by St. Cloud Hospital Link to Life.
Sleep: Take a written quiz to learn if you have a serious sleep condition. Provided by St. Cloud Hospital Sleep Center.
Stroke/carotid artery screening: Almost half of the people who have strokes have no prior symptoms. This exam screens the carotid arteries in the neck for fatty plaque buildup. Plaque may reduce or totally block the amount of blood flowing to the brain. Blocked carotid arteries cause 75 to 80 percent of strokes. Provided by CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center.
Video Otoscope: A video otoscope is hooked up to a video monitor so you can see your ear canal and ear drum. Provided by the Hearing Clinic of St. Cloud Ear, Nose & Throat, Head & Neck Clinic.
Pharmacist consultations: When it comes to your health, there is so much to know. Your pharmacist is an expert in the use of medicines and an important member of your health care team. Bring a list of your medications (with dosages) and questions about prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, herbal products or dietary supplements. Get answers regarding side effects, interactions and medication management. Provided by CentraCare Pharmacy.
Monofilament Testing of Feet (for early peripheral neuropathy): Tests if you are able to feel sensation on the bottom of your feet. Patients with diabetes who cannot feel discomfort and take appropriate action to prevent tissue damage may be at increased risk to develop complications. Provided by Central Minnesota Foot & Ankle Clinic.
