CentraCare M Physicians Orthopedics is excited to announce the expansion of services designed to make specialized orthopedic care more accessible and convenient for our patients:

These expanded offerings mean patients can get expert evaluation and treatment for sudden orthopedic injuries without the need for an appointment — speeding recovery and avoiding unnecessary emergency room visits.

"We are excited to offer our Orthopedic Urgent Care for patients with muscle, bone, or joint injuries who need to be seen quickly," said Paul Meirick, MD. "The benefits to the patients include same-day clinic visits with an orthopedic provider, without the wait times or expense of the emergency department. Orthopedic Urgent Care is also beneficial to our health system because it will help decrease the number of patients seen in the emergency department, therefore enhancing access and improving wait times."

Along with our established Orthopedic Urgent Care in St. Cloud, the new Walk-In Care service in Monticello expands the high-quality, same-day orthopedic care to even more patients in our region.

"We're proud to see our Monticello practice grow and now offer same-day, walk-in orthopedic care," added Patrick Osborn, MD. "It's a convenient way for patients to get timely diagnoses and start recovery sooner, so they can get back to work and daily life as quickly as possible."

When to Use Orthopedic Urgent Care

Orthopedic Urgent Care and Walk-In services are the right choice for injuries and conditions that need timely evaluation but aren't life threatening. Patients can visit for:

  • Broken bones
  • Ligament or tendon injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Sprains or strains
  • Joint injuries accompanied by a sound or feeling of a "pop"
  • Injuries resulting in instability or inability to bear weight
  • Pediatric orthopedic injuries for children ages 3 months and older (patients 1 year and older in Monticello)
  • Patients, ages 12 years and above, who have concussions that occur during sports

"If you have an injury or worsening of a chronic orthopedic condition, you'll see one of our orthopedic providers, have x-rays or labs if needed, and receive a diagnosis and treatment plan, all at the same cost as a regular orthopedics clinic visit," said Dr. Meirick.

As we continue to grow and adapt to meet the needs of our communities, these expanded services reflect our commitment to making high-quality orthopedic care easier to access when it matters most.
