CentraCare Names Dr. Gokhan Anil Chief Clinical Officer

CentraCare has named Gokhan Anil, MD, as its new Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), bringing more than 18 years of physician leadership experience along with almost two decades of clinical practice.

Dr. Anil joins CentraCare from Mayo Clinic, where he most recently served as Chair of Clinical Practice for Mayo Clinic Health System – Minnesota. In that role, he provided physician executive leadership for a 10-hospital system with about 500 physicians and 480 advanced practice providers (APPs) serving approximately 550,000 people across southern Minnesota.

"His experience leading meaningful improvements in quality, safety and care delivery, along with his commitment to physicians and clinical teams, will be an incredible asset as we continue to advance care across greater Minnesota."

As Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Anil will serve as CentraCare's senior physician leader, working alongside our clinical teams to advance quality and safety, strengthen consistency of care and support the health of the communities we serve. He is deeply committed to rural health care and ensuring patients have access to high-quality care close to home.

Dr. Anil will also play an important role in CentraCare's continued growth as an academic health system, helping strengthen the connections between clinical care, education, research and innovation.

Dr. Anil is a board-certified urogynecologist. He's also an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology with Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He holds a Master of Business Operational Excellence from The Ohio State University and earned his medical degree from the University of Ankara Faculty of Medicine in Turkey.

Dr. Anil will begin his role as Chief Clinical Officer in late November.
