CentraCare - St. Cloud Hospital Earns 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
St. Cloud Hospital has earned an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing quality, safety, and transparency in health care.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a nationally recognized rating that reflects how well hospitals protect patients from preventable harm. The grade is based on performance across more than 30 evidence-based safety measures, including infection prevention, medication safety, surgical safety, and systems designed to prevent medical errors.
"This 'A' grade belongs to our team members," said Joy Plamann, CentraCare - St. Cloud Hospital President. "Our caregivers, physicians, and support teams show up every day with an unwavering commitment to doing the right thing for patients. Their genuine care for the whole person, along with their dedication to safety, makes a real difference for our community, and this recognition reflects the exceptional work happening across our hospital."
Leapfrog assigns hospital safety grades twice each year using transparent, independent data drawn from both publicly available sources and hospital-reported information. These grades are widely trusted by patients and families and are intended to support informed health care decisions.
While the 'A' grade reflects strong performance, patient safety remains an ongoing focus. CentraCare remains committed to continuous learning, collaboration, and improvement to further strengthen care delivery across its sites and partnerships.
The Leapfrog 'A' Hospital Safety Grade applies specifically to CentraCare - St. Cloud Hospital and reflects performance during the current Leapfrog grading cycle.
