Providing Support through Education

Published in Media Releases Author: CentraCare

CentraCare Health - Monticello is hosting its annual Diabetes Health Fair for the community on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, from 3 – 6 p.m. at the hospital. This free event will feature blood pressure checks and glucose screenings; tips for healthy food choices; and interactive education on diabetes products, technology, resources and treatments.

Current statistics show that 18,000 new cases of diabetes are diagnosed in Minnesota each year. Additionally, one in four people with diabetes do not know they have the disease. Many people living with diabetes, or prediabetes, are unaware of the steps they can take to help themselves feel better and manage their overall health. By hosting the annual Diabetes Health Fair, CentraCare Health - Monticello demonstrates its commitment to helping members of our community learn how to better manage and prevent diabetes while also taking charge of their overall health. This fun and interactive event allows community members to ask questions and gather information to inspire healthier lifestyle choices.
