CentraCare Health – Monticello’s Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit received deemed status accreditation from the Joint Commission during a recent survey. Health care organizations that achieve accreditation through the Joint Commission are determined to meet or exceed a variety of state quality standards. It the gold seal of best practices for patient care, quality and safety.

The Joint Commission is a non-profit group that provides national accreditation and certification to more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs throughout the United States. Their mission is to continuously improve health care by evaluating organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe, effective, high-quality care. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting specific performance standards.
