24/7 Online Care When You Need It Most
It's after midnight and your sinus pain is keeping you up. You know you can get into Urgent Care, or a walk-in clinic the next day, but you don't want to wait. Where can you get care now? Try CentraCare's Virtual Urgent Care and eClinic, two virtual options that bring care to you 24/7.
Virtual Urgent Care is a convenient video visit option for urgent, non-emergent symptoms and conditions. During the video call, an Urgent Care provider will diagnose, recommend treatment, and prescribe medication when needed. Virtual Urgent Care is available 24/7 and from anywhere in the United States through a partnership with KeyCare.
eClinic is an online health questionnaire that asks you a series of questions about your specific symptoms. Once you've completed the health questionnaire, a CentraCare provider reviews your response and gets back to you with a plan within an hour. Our eClinic physicians, nurse practitioners or physician assistants diagnose, recommend treatment and prescribe needed medications for people within the state of Minnesota.
Many common conditions can be assessed through a CentraCare eClinic and Virtual Urgent Care visit, including:
- Cough, runny nose, sinus congestion
- Rashes
- Minor Burns
- Sore Throat
- Rash or other minor skin problems
- Seasonal Allergies
- Pink Eye / Eye Irritation

Q: Is virtual care right for me?
A: When it's after clinic hours or you can't get in for an in-person visit and you are dealing with minor illnesses or injuries that you want seen for soon, virtual care may be right for you. Virtual care providers can diagnose, recommend treatment and prescribe medication for adults and children ages 2 and older for many of the same illnesses and conditions you are seen for in-person.
Q: When is a virtual visit not the right choice?
A: You should never use virtual care if you are experiencing an emergency including, but not limited to: Severe or unusual chest pain, severe shortness of breath, symptoms of a stroke (such as facial drooping, arm weakness, or speech difficulties, thoughts of harming yourself or others.
If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency room immediately.
Q: What technology do I need for a video visit?
A: For Virtual Urgent Care, you will need an active MyChart account, access to the internet and a device with a working camera, microphone and speakers. You will have the opportunity to test your device prior to your appointment time.
For eClinic, you'll need access to the internet and an active email address to create an eClinic account.
Q: Can I get a prescription?
A: If clinically appropriate, virtual care providers are licensed and able to prescribe certain medications as part of your care plan. They do not provide prescriptions for controlled substances. Any prescribed medications will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice.
Q: What if you can't provide a diagnosis?
A: We do our best to treat you online, but not every condition can be treated virtually. If your health concern cannot be addressed through a virtual visit, you may be directed to a clinic for care.
Q: How much does virtual care cost?
A: Virtual Urgent Care is billed to insurance and costs the same as an in-person Urgent Care visit. Government-payer plan for Veteran's Affairs (VA) is not accepted.
eClinic is $45 per completed visit. You can pay with a credit card or a health savings account (HSA). CentraCare health plan enrollees and dependents can use eClinic at no cost.
