Gorecki Guest House Provides a Steady Source of Comfort for Family

photo of Jessica Pomey and her daughter Diana BensonReceiving a call that your 66-year-old mother has suffered a brain aneurysm is terrifying for anyone. For Jessica Pomey, daughter of Diana Benson of Sebeka, the situation was even more complicated by the fact that she lives in Oakland, Calif.

As Diana's only child, Jessica spent much of February, March and April 2026 coordinating her mother's care as Diana faced complex physical, and mental health challenges. During that time, Diana experienced a second hospitalization, and rehabilitation stays at three different facilities before additional complications led to another stay at St. Cloud Hospital.

Jessica is grateful for the support she and Diana received from Diana's eight siblings and is especially appreciative of being able to stay at the Gorecki Guest House on and off for 45 days between February and May.

Having the Guest House right across the street from the hospital was priceless for me. It was one less thing for me to worry about and a huge source of support and comfort for me and our family.

With home care support, Diana is back at home and continues to gain strength with occupational, speech and physical therapy.

She looks forward to the days when she and Jessica can resume their love of traveling.
