COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update Learn More

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

  • Please get your COVID vaccines and booster shots. They are proven safe and effective in reducing COVID illness, keeping people out of the hospital, and preventing death.
  • If your situation is not an emergency, please use other care options, including:
  • If this is a medical emergency, call 9-1-1, or visit the ER.

Together, we can do this. Thank you for your support.

Gorecki Gift Will Support Guest House Addition

Published in Media Releases Author: CentraCare

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – A generous gift by Benedict and Dorothy Gorecki of Milaca paves the way to begin the process of expanding the St. Cloud Hospital Gorecki Guest House.

Conveniently located across the street from the St. Cloud Hospital, the Gorecki Guest House welcomes patients and family members who are receiving medical care in the St. Cloud community. The house offers a comfortable, homelike atmosphere that allows families the opportunity to stay close to their loved ones. The Gorecki’s lead $1-million donation in 2008 helped to build the Guest House.

“It serves a great purpose,” Benedict said. The couple has spent time at the Guest House visiting with the people who stay there. “We like the people we’ve met at the Guest House. It’s been one of our most rewarding gifts.”

The guest house will expand from 12 guest rooms to 28. Since opening on June 15, 2009, the Gorecki Guest House has served more than 8,600 guests from 83 counties in Minnesota as well as guests from Canada, England, France, Kenya and Spain.

“We are excited to be able to open our doors to more guests who need a place to stay,” said Sally Allen, Gorecki Guest House specialist. “There are many nights where we are turning away more than a dozen families.”

With the expansion, the Gorecki Guest House can:

  • Serve more families in need, and have the ability to accommodate families immediately upon request.
  • Extend registration hours to accommodate families who arrive later in the evening.
