Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

  • Please get your COVID vaccines and booster shots. They are proven safe and effective in reducing COVID illness, keeping people out of the hospital, and preventing death.

St. Cloud Hospital Chief Nursing Officer Honored for Excellence in Health Care Leadership

St. Cloud, Minn. - Linda Chmielewski, MS, RN, NEA, BC, vice president of St. Cloud Hospital Operations/Chief Nursing Officer, was one of 35 women in Minnesota honored by The Women’s Health Leadership TRUST for providing leadership excellence in health care during the 35th anniversary 2014 Forum on April 29 in Minneapolis. The Women’s Health Leadership TRUST works to advance women leaders in health care, influence public policy and improve health care in their communities. Chmielewski serves on the Executive Leadership Team of St. Cloud Hospital and CentraCare Health and is respected for her leadership for improving quality and patient safety. 

“Linda has been a strong advocate for nursing excellence,” said Craig Broman, president, St. Cloud Hospital. “Through Linda’s leadership, St. Cloud Hospital received designation as a Magnet hospital and is the second Minnesota hospital and one of only 60 hospitals worldwide, to achieve three or more Magnet designations.”

The Magnet program promotes high standards for nursing care, creates a positive workplace for nurses and provides the best care for patients.

Chmielewski is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing; a graduate from the University of Notre Dame with a Master’s of Science in Administration. She is also a Graduate of Advanced Leadership Program from the U of MN Carlson School of Management; Graduate of the MN Executive Program from the U of MN School of Management Executive Development Program; and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. 

Chmielewski also serves on the Board of Directors for the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce and Catholic Charities. Chmielewski is an RN with a master’s degree in Nursing and holds Nurse Executive, Advanced-Board certification. 

The TRUST is an organization of active members of the health care industry in Minnesota.
