CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

New Provider Offers Sexual Health Counseling and Education for Patients, Providers

St. Cloud, Minn. – Joni Steffens, RN, CNM, is a sexuality counselor and educator who recently returned to CentraCare Clinic. After working for seven years as a registered nurse and 10 years as a certified nurse midwife, Joni received her post master’s certificate in Sexual Health at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2013.
Joni’s practice focuses on the sexual well-being of men, women and partners primarily through talk therapy and education. Her holistic approach may include education, medical intervention, communication skill-building, mindfulness training and strategies for sexual enhancement.
She has special interest in dealing with the effects of illness or chronic conditions on sexual health. These conditions may include cancer, vulvar disorders, heart disease, diabetes, depression, neurological disorders, physical disabilities, substance use, hormonal imbalances and mental health problems.
As a sexuality counselor and educator, Joni provides evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for many sexual disorders as well as common sexual concerns such as diminished desire, difficulties with orgasms, attaining and maintaining arousal, challenges with erections and ejaculation and sexual pain disorders.
