COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update Learn More

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

CentraCare care givers have been working around the clock for more than 20 months to care for you, your families and friends during COVID. We are committed to caring for every Minnesotan who needs us, and nothing will prevent us from doing so – even during these never-seen-before times.

The challenge of providing this level of care is that our hospital beds are often full. ERs in all of our hospitals are packed. And our clinical teams are exhausted. Early in the pandemic, our community stepped up in amazing ways to help us. We ask that you again join us in fighting this pandemic together.

How can you help?

  • Please get your COVID vaccines and booster shots. They are proven safe and effective in reducing COVID illness, keeping people out of the hospital, and preventing death.
  • If your situation is not an emergency, please use other care options, including:
  • If this is a medical emergency, call 9-1-1, or visit the ER.

Together, we can do this. Thank you for your support.

St. Benedict’s Senior Community to Break Ground on Resort-Style Senior Campus with Hospitality Focus in Scenic Sartell-St. Cloud Area

Published in Senior Living, Media Releases Author: CentraCare

Senior resort-style living not yet seen before coming soon to area residents

St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Benedict’s Senior Community (SBSC), a leader in health care and senior living in west central Minnesota, is pleased to announce the development of a new hospitality focused senior campus in the St. Cloud area that will feature a resort-like lifestyle for residents wanting to be active and remain in a scenic location. Responding to market demands while building on its reputation for quality and innovation, the new community will offer its residents a total view of wellness with numerous indoor-outdoor amenities in conjunction with 1-2 bedroom apartments available for rent.

The amenity-rich campus will be located on 9-acres at the intersection of 23rd Street and Pine Cone Road in Sartell, Minn. complete with access to woods and pathways to the adjacent lake. Features include patio and deck areas, a restaurant, stores, a media center, art studio, theatre, and a spa and wellness center that concentrates on all aspects of well-being.

Based on a recent demographic survey and market study of people currently living in the Sartell-St. Cloud area, St. Benedict’s recognized that senior demographics are growing rapidly and that many of tomorrow’s seniors desire active, social lives. St. Benedict’s is reimagining what the future will look like and what seniors will want in a new senior living development.

“When seniors speak, we listen,” said Robin Theis, administrator, housing and community services at SBSC. “People have expressed that their needs now include a heavy emphasis on overall well-being – indoors and outdoors – in a naturally attractive environment much like Sartell that includes forested lands, wide open spaces and is just steps away from a body of water. This project is about paving the way for a cutting edge senior campus that complements and enhances the active senior lifestyle.”

The industry-leading campus designed by Minneapolis based RSP Architects provides a holistic view of wellness that anticipates the needs and wants of current area residents and those who will want senior living options in the future.

St. Benedict’s will break ground on the development this fall and will complete the project by Summer 2016. It will include 72 apartment homes each with a patio or deck, washer and dryer in unit, and many other conveniences. The community will offer an array of services to help residents live fully from concierge services to support home care services given in the comfort of a resident’s own apartment. In addition, St. Benedict’s has proposed 24 post acute units to be built on the same parcel of land.

“This unique project demonstrates our commitments to Minnesota seniors especially those in Sartell and the surrounding communities,” Theis continued. “Residents are eager to experience the distinct resort-style living offered with the new development and we are beyond excited to open our doors to them.”
