Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, students will enhance their skills in the recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke and acute coronary syndromes.
The following knowledge and skills are REQUIRED for successful completion of the course.
- AHA BLS Healthcare Provider skills.
- Working knowledge of EKG rhythms.
- Basic ACLS drug and pharmacology knowledge.
- Practical application of ACLS rhythms and drugs.
The renewal course is designed for individuals who have taken the ACLS Initial course previously and incorporate ACLS algorithms and ideology in their everyday work practice. Those who do not work in environments with daily use of ACLS algorithms are encouraged to take the initial course as a refresher. Course participants must have excellent working knowledge of EKG rhythms and ACLS pharmacology.
