The PALS Course is for health care providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.
The initial course is for health care providers who respond to emergencies in children and infants. All participants have the opportunity to be a team leader in case-based scenarios of children in shock, respiratory and cardiac arrest.
The renewal course is for individuals who have taken PALS previously and incorporate PALS algorithms and ideology in their everyday work practice. Those whose work does not incorporate daily use of PALS algorithms should consider taking the initial course as a renewal.
