The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is an educational program that introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. The course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn. The causes, prevention and management of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia are carefully explained so health care professionals may develop optimal knowledge and skill in resuscitation.
Course Prerequisites
Textbook
Each participant needs to have studied the “Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation 9th Edition” prior to class. Many institutions purchase manuals and allow staff to borrow them. CentraCare employees will be sent eBook information to use for the course. If your organization does not have a manual available, you may purchase one by contacting the AAP Online Bookstore.
Online Exam
Each participant needs to have completed the “NRP Online Examination, 9th Edition Advanced Provider Course” no more than 90 days prior to the class session. After the online exam is complete, print out the certificate of completion and present this certificate to the identified instructor at the time of class.
Please note: If you currently have an NRP Provider Card, you must successfully complete all relevant lessons of the exam and complete the hands-on classroom portion by the end of the month of expiration on your existing NRP Provider Card.
CentraCare employees will be sent an email about the online exam which is taken through their learning management system.
Outside participants are responsible to purchase their NRP 9th edition Advanced Provider Curriculum exam from RQI.
