The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is an educational program that introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. The course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn. The causes, prevention and management of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia are carefully explained so health care professionals may develop optimal knowledge and skill in resuscitation.
Course Prerequisite
Each participant needs to have completed the “NRP Online Examination, 8th Edition” (Lessons 1-11 required) no more than 90 days prior to the class session and to have studied the “Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation 8th Edition” prior to class. Many institutions purchase manuals and allow staff to borrow them. If your organization does not have a manual available, you may purchase one by contacting the AAP Online Bookstore at: http://shop.aap.org/. Alternatively, participants may also purchase their manual, by enclosing $80 along with registration fee. CentraCare employees will be loaned a manual to use for the course.
